




A very rare double-sided carnelian intaglio by Luigi Michelini, mounted in gold as a swivel ring, French c.1810 .
Minerva to one side, Perseus to the other. There are initials to each side - Λ Μ by Minerva, ΡΥΧ by Perseus.
Λ Μ was the signature used by Luigi Michelini, a pupil of Giuseppe Girometti. Born in Rome but a naturalised Frenchman, he was working in Paris at this time.
